Obituary: John T. Quinlan, 89, Beloved Father of Kevin Quinlan

John T. Quinlan, 89, of Orange, beloved husband of the late Gertrude Quinlan, passed away on January 20, 2017.

John was born in Bridgeport, CT on October 19, 1927 to the late Frank and Esther Quinlan.

John attended Black Rock Grammar School and Bassick High School, class of 1946. He worked at Milford Rivet Co. and then proceeded to work for the Swan Engraving Co. for 35 years. He was an avid bowler in Milford for 45 years.

John loved the UConn Huskies Women’s Basketball team and enjoyed watching old movies and TV shows. Those who knew John at any point in his 89 years of life will likely attest to his contagious, positive attitude and endless kindness. He was always smiling, laughing and bringing joy to those around him.

John is survived by his sons, Kevin Quinlan of Orange and Edward Quinlan and his wife Denise of Shelton; his grandchildren, Kelly Hannon and her husband Mike of Waltham, MA and Aubrey and Travis Quinlan of Shelton; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his sisters, Jane Wilson and Dorothy Sabo both of Bridgeport.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT.

Burial will follow at Mt. St. Peter Cemetery, 219 New Haven Ave., Derby, CT. Friends and family may call on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. To leave online condolences, visit our website at www.codywhitefuneralservice.com.
