Obituary: Lorena Capone, 74, Beloved Wife, Mother, Nonni, Friend

Lorena Palmieri Capone, 74, of Orange entered into rest on December 13, 2023. She was the beloved wife of Robert P. Capone, Sr. In addition to her husband, Lorena was the proud mother of Robert P. (Dina) Capone Jr., Kara Capone, and Elizabeth Capone; Nonni to Robert P. Capone III, Nicholas Vincent, Maddalena Rose, and Mila Rose Capone.

She was the only child of the late Joseph J. and Anna Annunziata Palmieri. Although she was an only child, she created a large family of friends and loved ones throughout her lifetime. She loved her family fiercely and they meant the world to her.

Lorena retired in 2021 from the Yale School of Medicine where she was employed as the senior administrator for more than 21 years for the Chief of Cardio-Thoracic Surgery, Dr. John Elefteriades. As the president of the Friends of St. Anthony Church, she was a communicant, and tireless volunteer for the church and its many community events, including organizing dinners and bake sales where her anginettes were a favorite.

Her community involvement also spanned her children’s lives and she enthusiastically participated in their activities and fundraisers, including volunteering for homeless organizations.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in St. Anthony Church, New Haven on Monday, Dec. 19 at 10 a.m. Interment followed in St. Lawrence Cemetery, West Haven.
